On December 22, we held our Annual Staff Christmas lunch and Show ‘n’ Shine at CMV Truck Centre. This event is a wonderful way to bring all our staff and departments together and reward them for another big year accomplished!

Many of our team are extreme rev heads, so we saw it only fit to hold our first official Show ‘n’ Shine where staff can showcase their pride and joy - whether it’s a car, truck, or bike.

The dealership stopped trading at lunch time and all staff headed to our lunch area where Heath Patten, CMV Truck Centre General Manager, took the opportunity to congratulate the team on their significant achievements throughout 2023, and lightly touch on what CMV Truck Centre has in store for our staff in 2024.

Heath also gave a bittersweet congratulations and a big farewell to Wes Bartsch, Assistant Parts Manager, who after 48 years with CMV Group officially retired.

Heath said, “Wes, has been a crucial member of not only the Parts team but also the business as a whole, and his contributions over the years have been integral to CMV Truck Centre’s success.”

The CMV Truck Centre team share their sadness and congratulations to Wes on his retirement and wish him all the best - he will be missed!

Following Heath’s announcements and updates, staff were served a mouth watering lunch by Aussie Ripper Roasts. With an array of barbequed meats, vegetables, and salads there was no way our staff were leaving hungry!

During lunch, staff were encouraged to cast their votes in the Show ‘n’ Shine. Vehicle entries were next level, with over 25 entries proudly displayed, ranging from Classic Holden Commodores to Ducati bikes - it was going to be tough to pick the winners!

After lunch, Jonathan Crawford, CMV Truck Centre Managing Director, gathered all staff together to announce the well-deserved Show ‘n’ Shine winners:

• Best Car In Show: Murray Mulgrew – 1968 Ford Fairlane
• Best Motorbike In Show: Harley Nicholls – 2023 Harley Davidson Breakout
• People’s Choice: Brad Flaherty – Holden Commodore VL Wagon
• Most Original / Unique: Darren Martin – 1921 Model T Ford
  
  

Congratulations again to the winners and thanks to all that took part in our first official Show ‘n’ Shine!

Just before official formalities had wrapped up there was one more winner to be announced for a highly respected award. Josh Caccianiga, CMV Truck Centre Commercial Manager, donned a long brunette mullet wig, straw wide-brimmed hat and big mirrored sunnies as he had the honourable task of crowning this year’s winner for CMV Truck Centre’s Best Mullet!

Mullets had been growing for months in the lead up to this day, and although they all looked like winners – there was one that stood out from the crowd and took home the title. Congratulations to Tyson Joseph, CMV Truck Centre trade assistant - what an epic effort!

Once formalities had finished, staff were able to continue socialising and enjoying a drink around the line-up of Show ‘n’ Shine entries. It was fantastic to have the entire CMV Truck Centre team together celebrating our big year of 2023 – we are excited for what’s to come in 2024.
