On Friday, March 17 we held a very special morning tea at our dealership for something worth raising your clippers or scissors to - The World’s Greatest Shave!

The World's Greatest Shave is a fundraiser we have always loved being involved in - but this year it has hit home more than ever with one of our longstanding Parts employees and friend, Cam Moro, being diagnosed with Leukaemia in December last year and currently battling this horrible disease. Cam is an invaluable member of our team who has been with us since 2010 and has been sorely missed while undergoing treatment.


Our CMV Truck Centre team decided to dedicate this year's fundraiser towards Cam, with 10 of our incredible employees signing up to participate and fundraise for this cause. 


On the day we had our entire team band together to put on a memorable morning tea – with staff making deliciously fluffy scones with jam and cream, coffees being made, and others putting their hand up as self-proclaimed barbers, happy to take the clippers to the collection of messy mullets and well-established beards and moustaches our crew had grown!


Many people facing blood cancer lose their hair during treatment, and shaving is the ultimate act of solidarity to stand by them. It was fantastic to see more people put their hand up on the day to be involved, with 13 staff volunteering to shave their noggins!


One by one they made their way to the “barbers” chair whilst everyone watched and cheered them on as their luscious locks fell to the ground. The overwhelming feeling of support for not only this cause but also for our special guest Cam – who joined us along with some family, was unreal!


Taking to Jonathan Crawford, our Managing Director’s head with clippers was Cam. He had the honour of complete, creative control when it came to shaping Jono’s new ‘do’! We think he did a great job – as you can see here!


We started our fundraiser about a month ago with an initial goal of $2,800 – which we smashed within the first week. We had a tremendous response, and with our fundraising team rallying for donations during this time – we finished up raising an amazing $9,720! What’s even more amazing is that the CMV Group Foundation will also be matching the amount raised by our team, meaning the total donation to the Leukemia Foundation, we can proudly say, will be close to $20,000!


This is an absolutely jaw-dropping effort by our entire team, and just shows what a fantastic community we have here. These crucial funds raised will give people like Cam, who are battling blood cancer, all the support and information they need, while driving breakthrough research projects in discovering better ways to diagnose and treat blood cancer.
